Urza and the Song in the Dark

Live music and composition in collaboration with Roman Benedict. Kathryn has created the music entirely in the Dorian mode, exploring folk storytelling, electro-acoustics and minimalist riffs to add to the magic of this whimsical theatre show by Matriark Theatre. This work is an allegory for human greed at the expense of the environment, in one girl’s quest to save her local area.

The Lighthouse at the End of the World (in development)

Continuing to develop her compositional style from Urza, Kathryn is creating a score for this show in the Lydian mode, combining folk songs, live loops and ambient sounds to create the soundtrack for this theatrical tale of climate change, ageing, loss and love.

There is a Tribe of Kids (City of Sydney Libraries)

This show was created during Kathryn’s live/work residency with City of Sydney and marks the beginning of her current composition and performance style. The music is a longform improvisation that she created with live looping to accompany Matriark Theatre's adaptation of the beautiful children's book by Lane Smith.
